It's a great first day. For those of you who stopped by and signed up, thanks! Some have asked, "Why did it take so long (to get off your fat a.. and re-do your website)?" Well the answer is easy, time. I've been really busy, that's the standard answer. But the truth is, I didn't want to work yesterday, nor could I go skiing again because I could barely walk. Please see Craig's Picture of the Day for Saturday and Sunday. We had a great time, my friends wore me out but I got some great shots. It's not all fun and games around here though, we actually do work, sometimes (if it snows, were gone).
I've been 'geeklogging' several websites lately which gave me the experience and confidence to revamp my main site, Embedded Linux Interfacing. Seems silly, after all, this is my main consulting business. You'd think it would be first. Nope, it was last because of its content, mainly the wiki pages.

As an embedded Linux consultant, I'm continually helping customers with the same problems. That coupled with a documentation issue (I'm tired of reproducing the same documentation over and over again), I've decided to create pages that all embedded Linux customers need. I've revamped this website to permit this documentation without to much overhead (editing html in vi). The geeklog software and the ewiki plugin make it simple and I like that.
As with my book, all the pages here will be by example. I'm going to start with debian workstation install instructions, then move on to a couple small projects involving the PC parallel port, debian packaging and creating a compact flash file system for the Technologics TS-5300 board. Here's some specific pages that I'll create in the upcoming weeks.
Development setup
Product selection
Simple device driver creation
Root filesystem creation
Packaging and version control issues
I'll have these sections flushed out over the next month or so, so check back to comment or add. Thanks for your patience. Stay tuned and thanks for stopping by.

Here it is, the new Embedded Linux: Hardware, Software and Interfacing website. The book is three years old this month and its time for a website face lift. I'm still working full time as an embedded Linux consultant and needed an easier place to post information. This is it, a website using the geeklog software. I've included the ewiki plugin for easier page creation/editing and website page linking. So far, I've moved about 90% of the content to the new format. All the website pages are now searchable. The site is more organized and easier to maintain. As I progress with customers and readers, I'll be posting news articles and creating a trail of information about using embedded Linux for product development.
